Grandma and the welcome lizard

My story begins with a tree. It has been there next to where the driveway and the sidewalk meet ever since I can remember.

But one day mom said our tree is dead we are going to have to cut it down.

Finally the day came, Grandma and PaPa came so we put on our gloves and got started. PaPa threw a weighted rope up into the top of the tree. Gramma, Mama, Kilory and I went across the street to Mrs. Edwards' lawn. Mama and Grandma held on to the other end of the rope, while Papa used his chain saw to cut down the tree. PaPa and Mama did not want the tree to fall on the house. When the tree started to fall PaPa yelled timber and Gramma and Mama pulled hard so the tree fell where PaPa wanted it to.Some of our neighbors were out watching us.

The tree fell into the street so we had to quickly cut the part that was in the street up so we would not be blocking the road.

Mommy was afraid when PaPa came over to cut up the trunk our lizard might get hurt. So we tried to get it to move away. Gramma was wearing gloves so she walked over and picked up our lizard and put it in an other tree where it could rest safely. It rested in that tree all day, but we have not seen it since. We are happy to know that it is out there somewhere safe.

The End

We hope you enjoy your visit.
