Happy Valentine's
Day. If it is a happy Valentine's Day. Which I doubt.
I have a February
tradition: eat candy "conversation" hearts.
I like to make sentences out of them, then eat my words.
I look forward to my vintage favorites: LITTLE KISS; WOW! WHAT A SMILE!; I REALLY
HAD FUN; THE ONE I LOVE; and, LET'S HOLD HANDS.
I'm a modern gal, but somehow I'm a bit dismayed...I opened up my little bag
of tradition today and found the old favorites...and...PAGE ME; FAX ME; E-MAIL
ME.
Can one kick and claw one's way back to handmade paper doily Valentines, and
Cole Porter on the radio?
Wishing wistfully amongst violets, pearls, lace, and the gentlest waft of "White
Shoulders",
Your friendly webmistress
After you, who
Could supply my sky of blue?
After you, who
Could I love?
After you, why
Should I take the time to try,
For who else could qualify
After you, who?
Hold my hand and swear
You'll never cease to care,
For without you there what could I do?
I could search years
But who else could change my tears
Into laughter after you?
Every Time We Say Goodbye
Cole Porter
Every time we say goodbye, I die
a little.
Every time we say goodbye, I wonder why a little,
Why the gods above me, who must be in the know
think so little of me that they allow you go.
When you're near there’s such an air of spring about it,
I can hear a lark somewhere begin to sing about it.
There’s no love song finer but how strange
The change from major to minor
Every time we say goodbye.

We hope you enjoy your
visit.
