Happy Hanukkah!
We goyims love celebrating Hanukkah if for no other reason, than potato latkes every night are economical, easy, and save one from thirty minutes of "Duh, what shall I fix for dinner? With schlepping twins around all day I'm about to plotz already, I'm so ferklempt."
Disclaimer: If you are of the Chosen People, please don't kvetch that I'm shikse with lots of khutspe. As Shari Lewis says "You go to birthday parties when it's not your birthday, don't you?" (I'm a Gentile, but I am a Sabbath keeper.) This is all in the spirit of...
Red and Yellow, Black and White,
This corner of the Hundred Acre Wood also celebrates
Baruch Atah Adonai Elohenu Melech Ha-olam She-he-che-yanu V'ki-ye-manu V'hi-ge Yanula-zman Ha-zeh.
Blessed is Adonai our God, Ruler of the Universe, for giving us life, for sustaining us and for enabling us to reach this season.
Baruch Atah Adonia Elohenu Melech Ha-olam She-asa Nissim L'votenu Bayamim Ha-hem Ba-ZmanHa-zeh.
Blessed is Adonai our God, Ruler of the Universe, who performed wonderous deeds for our ancestors in days of old, at this season.

Here is a recipe from "Grandma's Latkes" by Malka Drucker, illustrated by Eve Chwast, 1992 Harcourt Brace & Company.
As I can't resist fiddling with perfection, I add one more potato to the recipe. I peel the spuds and machine grate to save time.
As I'm a Gentile, I don't use quite as much oil (oil is the whole point of Hanukkah, but oy vey, my tuchis is so plump already, and I'm a Gentile so I can have fun with it already, right?), and I eat them with Heinz ketchup, not applesauce or sour cream.
All are precious in His sight
Christmas
(although it's a Pagan-infused celebration of the birth of my Lord who was most likely born in the summer) and
Kwanzaa
(although we're Celtic/Germanic-American)
...we're human
...and that's reason enough to share family-oriented traditions that uphold the goodness and blessings of God; encourage the uplifting of the human spirit, ideal, and goals; and inspire reaching out to one's God and fellow man.
