  No, I didn't forget to use an anti-glare filter. I LIKE deciphering the glare to see what the horse saw through the window. Clignancourt Flea Market/Marché aux Puces. I showed my sister-in-law my "antique" Queen Anne sideboard, and dining table with six chairs from Scotland; my cherry china cabinet with wooden wheels from England; my collection of pink Depression Glass; etc.
"How quaint. . .Doing your home in used furniture," she said, her hair blown back by the wind wooshing out of my sails.
My pride was dead in the water, but my search for furnishings and accessories -- that could tell me such stories if only I listened hard enough -- continued, albeit humbly.
For ten years thereafter, I referred to my treasures as "Junque" [ZHUH AHHHHNK].
Until Veronique, whom I hope never loses her enchanting French accent, told me that brocante means basically "second-hand" or as I like to say, "previously treasured".

I absolutely admit I'm strange, but I love my crackled white-with-blue-flowers second-hand stoneware milk pitcher I got in Belgium (for a song) in a tiny, quaint, dusty shop more than any packaged lace amongst Belgian key chains, and snow-globes at a souvenir shop.

No, I didn't forget to use an anti-glare filter. I LIKE deciphering the glare to see what the dolls saw through the window. Clignancourt Flea Market/Marché aux Puces. People-watching at French Marche aux Puces is just as fun for me as at American flea markets. Once past Clignancourt's Jim Morrison and Bob Marley wall hangings, military surplus, and into the Some areas of the Clignancourt Flea Market were fleasier than others. Marché Brion (corner Rue des Rossiers) and the Paul Bert Market, (16 rue Paul Bert) there was treasure after treasure. Heady ANTIQUES and delightful brocante. Tight-budgeted, I couldn't do much but be enthralled by the goodly stuff, but enthralled I was. I have memories of the experience and photos. We also have a COOL worn leather jacket, a vintage violet (our daughters' middle names are both Violet) postcard written in French, and some vintage stamps purchased for a pittance.

Here what you have happened upon is my shopping place and nearby-points-of-interest itineraries for my next Paris adventure. I shall print this out for myself and put it in my small backpack.
